Economic Affairs and Planning Minister Rajeev Vikram Shah has said that in order to develop the sports field and athletes, it is necessary to build a playground for each municipality.
Inaugurating the 5th Mayor's Cup and President's Running Shield sports competition which started from Monday in Jajarkot's Chedagad Municipality, Minister Shah said that it is not enough to look for players who will win at the centre. He also says that it is necessary to produce
players from the ward and municipal levels. He suggested the municipality to allocate sufficient budget in sports, education and health sectors. "Politics should not be inserted into development and service," he said. .
Mayor Ratna Bahadur Khadka said that Mayor's Cup has been conducted for the development of the active players in the city area and the inherent ability of the players.
Chandra Bahadur Thapa, Deputy Chief of Chedagad Municipality, said that the competition held in the municipality will increase the motivation of the players. 'The municipality should arrange the necessary budget for the development of the sports field,' he said, 'if the necessary structures of the sports field can be made in the municipality, the youths who are addicted to different things will be attracted to the sports field.'
