The Ministry of Water Resources and Energy Development of Karnali Province has implemented 878 schemes with budget allocation in the current financial year 2081/82. This year, the ministry has implemented nearly 77.5 percent of the 1,133 plans.
In the semi-annual review program organized by the Ministry on Sunday and Monday, the plans made by 10 district offices including the Directorate of Water, Irrigation and Energy Development were reviewed. According to which, out of the budget allocations in the current financial year, nearly 49 percent of the plans have been agreed upon by consumers. Out of that, 42 projects have been completed by the end of December.
Secretary of the Ministry Indradev Bhatt said that there were 557 planning agreements till the second quarter. According to him, the ministry has made 35 percent material progress so far. According to the ministry, 2.86 billion 48 million 16 thousand rupees have been allocated for the ministry this year, so far 23 million 49 million rupees have been spent. 25 plans are being implemented in the ministry, and out of 84 budget allocations this year, contracts have been signed for 46 plans.
Water Resources and Energy Development Minister Vijaya Budha instructed the heads of offices to implement the identified plans quickly. She said that it is necessary to remove duplication in development plans and if the plans are completed quickly and made of quality, the people will appreciate the government.
