The youth said that the state's efforts to attract the youth to the industry were not enough. Speaking on the second day of the Karnali Youth Festival held in Birendranagar on Saturday, the young entrepreneurs who participated in the discussion said that the state should focus on enterprise development to prevent the youth from going abroad. They opined that the state has not been able to attract the youth in the enterprise sector.
In the 'Youth of Karnali: Entrepreneurs and Creative Youth' session facilitated by Vinita Bogti, they said that the state should introduce a policy oriented towards youth entrepreneurship and stop them from going abroad.
Poshanraj Regmi, who has employed local youth by running a restaurant in Birendranagar, emphasized that the state should bring in an enterprise facilitation policy to prevent youth from going abroad. He said that since tourism is an enterprise that can be easily started and established in Nepal now, the state should inspire the youth in this direction. He said, 'Tourism businesses can be established due to the geographical beauty of Nepal, for this it is necessary for the government to facilitate policy.'
Another speaker, young scientist Rajendra Bishta, agreed with Poshan's statement and pointed out the need to inspire the youth in entrepreneurship rather than going abroad. He also said that the business he started was to inspire other young people. He said that it is a challenge to do small investment ventures in Nepal due to the non-implementation of the policy made by the state.
'It is a challenge to do business in Nepal, it is a challenge to start an enterprise without getting the facilities provided by the state,' said Rajendra -break entrepreneur Kalpana Bista said that young people who want to become entrepreneurs should start from their own field. Another entrepreneur, Lakshmi Bhattarai, opined that the state and local governments should provide special facilities to those who want to do multi-purpose enterprises. He said that the provincial and local governments should facilitate marketing along with subsidies to encourage the youth towards entrepreneurship.
Akashdeep Shrestha, Head of Karnali Province of Nabil Bank, said that the bank will provide loans for entrepreneurship and innovation-related businesses for young people who want to do something.
Karnali Youth Festival organized by Youth for Change, Rashtra Nirman Manch Nepal and National Youth Council is running in Birendranagar from Friday.
