Karnali parliamentary committee has got the leadership. Three parliamentary committees, which have been leaderless since last May, got leadership. The chairpersons of the newly elected parliamentary committees took the oath of office and secrecy on Thursday.
Vindman Bista of CPN Maoist Center as the chairman of the Accounts Committee, Dakshina Shahi of the CPN UML as the chairman of the Finance and Natural Resources Committee and Purna Bahadur Khatri of the Nepali Congress as the chairman of the Social Development Committee took oath. Acting Speaker Yashoda Kumari Neupane administered the oath to them.
Jit Bahadur Malla of AImale, who was previously the chairman of the audit committee, resigned on October 15. Similarly, after Durg Bahadur Rawat, who was the chairman of the Finance and Natural Resources Committee, became the Minister of Industry, Tourism, Forest and Environment on 18 Baisakh, the committee became without a chairman. After Ghanshyam Bhandari, who was the chairman of the Social Development Committee, became the Social Development Minister on July 20, the said committee was also without a chairman.
Among the four parliamentary committees of Karnali, Kalyani Khadka, MP of the United Samajwadi Party, is the chairman of the provincial affairs committee.
