The Division Forest Office Salyan has distributed relief as compensation to 79 farmers of the district who were victims of wild animal damage and quadruped killing.

The office has distributed relief to the farmers of Sharda Municipality, Kalimati, Chhatreshwari and Kapurkot Rural Municipality of the district.

78 farmers of four municipalities were given 390,000 at the rate of 5,000 and one farmer of Kalimati Rural Municipality 7 who killed 10 goats was given 490,000 to 79 people, said Tek Bahadur Rawal, head of Division Forest Office Salyan.

He informed that since last year, the government has distributed relief to farmers whose crops have been damaged by wild animals and quadrupeds have been killed. According to him, 111 farmers of the district had applied for relief saying that wild animals had damaged crops and killed quadrupeds.

Head of office Rawal informed that the details of 32 people who have applied have been sent to the center and relief will be distributed to them within a few days. He said that the residents of the district are being affected by wild animals, wild boars, monkeys, rats, ghorals, dumsi and tigers that have increased in the park recently.
