Science laboratories have been brought into operation in eight schools of Kanakasundari Rural Municipality of Jumla. After the science laboratory came into operation, the teaching of science subjects has become very easy. Hasta Bahadur Bhandari, headmaster of Pandavagufa Secondary School, said that the science laboratory helped in learning achievement.

He said, "Students who used to take only the theoretical class of science in school are now also taking the practical class in the laboratory. This is a happy work for every school and student. It is also a golden opportunity for students who want to get higher education with science subject. 

Damodar Prasad Acharya, chairman of Kankasundari rural municipality, said that science laboratories have been established in all the eight schools within the municipality. He said, "Now, no student can complain about not being able to take the practical science class." ’ 

'The laboratory has made the study and teaching of science very easy,' President Acharya said, 'It has increased the access of students to science. It is giving inspiration in building a school with means and resources.' 

President Acharya said that he emphasized on quality, skillful and practical education management, conducting ethical technical, practical, professional and experimental education, emphasizing on technology-friendly teachers and student production.  The establishment of

laboratory has encouraged teachers, students and parents. President Acharya added, "Students are emphasizing on the production of skilled manpower by experimental work rather than producing unemployment manpower by acquiring only rote education." 

In Kotghar Secondary School in Kankasundari-8, 204 students of classes 8, 9 and 10 are achieving learning achievements from the laboratory. Principal Bhandari said that the establishment of the laboratory is encouraging students who want to study science in higher education. 

When the municipality monitored every school, teachers and students complained about the lack of science labs. "The laboratory has been started," President Acharya said. Monitoring is done frequently.' 

Head of the District Coordination Committee Gaurinanda Acharya said that Kankasundari is spreading a positive message in education as he was able to set up a laboratory in Mavitah's school. He also asked for correct and safe use of the materials used in the laboratory. 

It has been seen that 3.5 lakh to 4 lakh rupees have been spent to set up a science laboratory in a school. Acharya, the chairman of the municipality, said that donors have supported the purchase of equipment for the science laboratory.
