Ferio Simli's appearance and beauty

A deserted river, some water and one or two small houses and schools. In all other places, there are farms and forests. 74-year-old local Mahavir Khadka remembers this scene 15 years ago in Simli in Saniveri Rural Municipality-9.

But with time the appearance and beauty of Simli changed. With the easy access of the road, this place has started to become popular since 2065.

'Before, our farm was here. At that time, I never thought about building a house because there would be an aul. How was it, how did it happen.'

Savik Simli Village Development Committee Ward no. 1 is also the center of Simli Rural Municipality. Initially, Ward No. The market of Simli, which was limited to only 9, has now spread across the river on the west bank to ward no. 8 and with the construction of the concrete bridge, Ward No. across the Saniveri river. 3 The market and the settlement have expanded up to Garayla.

As the houses are increasing, the arable land is being eaten away. But local teacher Hemant Bhandari says that it has brought ease in the daily life of common people. To gain something, you have to lose something. After the market was established here, the agricultural produce and products of the village got a market. Some have also got employment. Our daily life has become easier,' he says happily.

Simli now has a village center as well as a school up to class 12, a campus up to graduate level, a municipal hospital and a police station. Along with this, an important development structure is the Madhyapahari Lokmarg.

Bhandari adds on this matter, 'The road that was started around 2065 was connected to the district headquarters a few years later. Now the same road has been developed as a mid-hill public road. Along with this, it has brought ease in the traffic, the road has a lot of meaning in expanding the market.'

There are about 100 different small and big initiatives and some hotels in the Simli area, says Ashok DC, a local businessman. According to the DC, people from all the 11 wards of the municipality and neighboring municipalities even from some places in Chaurjahari and Musikot come to Simli for shopping.

At first, DC said that their house was located a little higher in this ward, but later they migrated here after seeing business. According to Chakra KC, a local hotelier, tourists also come through this route.

'In the beginning, we started the hotel business with a small investment. Along with the development of roads and markets, we also increased our investment in hotels. Now many tourists come from Pokhara-Kadamdaun to visit Rara-Foksundo lake and many other tourists to stay. The business is good," he says, "When we were young, we used to come to school scared. Now this place has become desirable. It was great.'

Casey says that along with the expansion of the Simli market, the real estate business has also increased rapidly. "There has been a lot of buying and selling of real estate in the past 10 years. Now there is no place. However, people are determined to build houses even on the surrounding hills.'

Village Vice President Kamala Roka says that the rural municipality is also serious about connecting the development of Simli with prosperity. We have taken all possible steps to organize this place and further develop and expand it as the main market of the district. Soon we are thinking of making a master plan and moving forward.'
