Most of the pregnant women in the remote areas of Jumla give birth at home because there is no health facility with maternity services nearby. They give birth under the care of women health volunteers and midwives. The women of Lekali area of ​​Gutichour, Patarasi, Tila, Kankasundari Rural Municipality have complained that they are not getting maternity services easily.

Debu Budha of Lekpore Village, Jumla Kankasundari Rural Municipality-4 gave birth at home last year. She had no choice but to give birth at home as she had to walk for three hours to reach the birthing center. 

Sal stuck at home giving birth . She was carried to the birthing center and the sal was removed. Although the government recognized that pregnant women should be regularly checked and delivery must be done in health institutions, it has not been implemented in the settlements of Dugarm. 

Pansa Budha of the same village was torn by labor pains two years ago. The family also allowed her to be delivered at home when it was seen that she could be delivered on the way when she was carried in a car. As a result, his calendar did not come out. It takes three hours to reach the birthing center from his village.

Neither the road has reached the birthing center, nor is there a birthing center nearby. Even pregnant women who want to give birth in the health institution are not able to go. Some of the pregnant women have given birth on the way and the locals have expressed their grief. 

'There is knowledge that births should be done in health institutions in remote areas,' said Pansa, 'there is a situation where births have to be done at home due to geographical difficulties and lack of easy access to transport.' Women are giving birth. Most of them are giving birth at home. Pansa said, "There is no maternity service in the health facilities that are available. We are not even able to understand the condition of birthing centers that are established far away." We are giving birth in terms of risk.'

Even now, in every election, the agenda of safe delivery is raised as a priority. 'When they win, then the agenda of remote pregnant women will not be recognized . Pregnant women in remote areas are experiencing this hardship,' said Rami Budha, a local woman.

There was no need for an ambulance to go to his village as the road was not connected. But there is not even a good posture to carry the pregnant, sick.  In the cold season of winter, when all the men go down to the sea for business, the women give birth with great risk.

They are saddened by the fact that women only carry pregnant women and take them to health institutions to give birth when they cannot give birth at home in winter. Parvati Budha, a member of the Toll Reform Committee, said, "In speech, all government services have reached the villages." It has been arranged to have regular 4 pregnancy tests and for that, 700 rupees will also be given. There is also a provision to get transportation expenses of Rs. But the pregnant women of Lekpore village are not getting regular pregnancy check-up nor are they getting delivery in the health institution . That is, they are being deprived of all services provided by the government. 

They have to work regularly, get married at an immature age, and have children at a young age. Getting married at a young age will cause health problems. More than that, the condition of mother and child is very dangerous.

They have demanded to ensure the right to give birth safely in a health institution by establishing a birthing center near their home. Health Branch Co-ordinator Chhaya Gharti said there is a need for a birthing center in Lekpore village.
