The work of two buildings under construction in District Hospital Salyan with the aim of expanding it to 50 beds has been stalled for three months. Due to the lack of bank guarantee of the contractor, the deadline could not be extended and the construction of the building was stalled.
After the building was insufficient to expand the district hospital to 50 beds, the construction was started with a contract agreement with the Arogya Subedi JV Company in Baisakh 2078 with a budget of 180 crores of the federal government. Due to various reasons, the construction company started the construction only one year after signing the contract . After the construction of the building has been stalled, the construction materials are now stored.
About 75 percent of the construction work of the building has been stopped since April. Arjun Budhamgar said. According to him, Aarogya Nirman Seva started alone after one year of joint contract with two construction companies. Work has been going well lately. Although the period to complete the plan was three years, the construction company completed 75 percent of the work in two years. As the bank guarantee is mandatory for the extension, the contractor has to deposit the amount for the bank guarantee . Reluctance to deposit the amount has caused a problem.
The chief Budhamar informed that the construction company, which has completed 75 percent of the work, has received nearly 110 million payments so far. We are looking after the contractor. We have submitted a proposal to the relevant body, but the process has not been able to proceed due to the delay of the contractor,' he said.
MDGP Dr. who is in charge of District Apatal Salyan. Abhishek Singh said that in the hospital with 15 beds, services such as surgery have been expanded by keeping 40 beds. Pramod Kumar Shrestha, Chairman of the Hospital Development Committee, said that there was difficulty in extending the deadline as they were making various excuses even though they were giving advice to the contractor. During the time of late former Prime Minister Marichman Singh Shrestha, a district hospital with 15 beds was operated in 2044.
