For the first time, the bus has reached Simkot, the headquarters of Humla. The bus that reached Hilsa a year ago by way of China reached Humla headquarters Simkot for the first time after the widening of the road on the Chechahara section of the Hilsa Simkot road.
The bus operating from Simkot to Hilsa and Kharpu will provide free service to the patients coming from Kharpu of Kharpunath Rural Municipality-5 to Simkot.
Out of the 77 districts of the country, the only district that has not been touched by the road network is Simkot, the headquarters of Humla. Businessman Vijay Lama said that for the first time, buses have been brought to the headquarters Simkot to serve the passengers.
Businessman Lama had brought 2 buses to Hilsa a year ago using the China route after it was not possible to bring buses from Nepal. Although the national road network does not reach Simkot, Lama said that since the district headquarters is connected from the north, the bus was taken to Simkot via China.
'Until now Simkot is not connected to the national road due to the lack of a concrete bridge on the Chuvakhola Karnali river which flows through Kharpu of Kharpunath Rural Municipality-5,' Businessman Lama said, 'Since there is no way to reach Simkot from within the country, we have used the China route. Vehicles with Nepali number plates cannot be driven on Chinese roads. That's why we had to pay a fare of 7 lakh rupees to bring the bus to the Hilsa border in a Chinese truck.'
Due to the road not being widened in Chychhahara section, the bus that was previously only operating from Hilsa to Patihalna of Namkha-2, with the widening of the road in Chychhhara, 6 hours on Thursday After taking time, he reached Simkot, the headquarters which is 95 km away from Hilsa.
As soon as the bus belonging to Hilsa Public Transport Pvt Ltd in Surkhet reaches the headquarter Simkot, the citizens of Humla will no longer have to pay expensive fares to reach their destination.
According to Humla's geography and road, it will be easy to operate buses with a capacity of 25 seats and it will be easy for citizens who are in trouble to travel, said local Tara Bahadur Lama. When the bus reached the headquarters for the first time, the locals welcomed the passengers and the driver with a big smile.
The road distance from Simkot to Hilsa is only 95 km. However, local jeeps charge 5,000 per passenger on that road section, keeping in mind the problem of the citizens who are suffering from high fares. Lama said that after reaching Simkot, the bus will operate regularly for Simkot-Hilsa and Simkot-Kharpu from Sunday.
Lama said that patients coming from Kharpu to District Hospital Simkot will be provided free bus services.
