The Ministry of Health and Population has urged people to exercise caution when using appliances such as fireplaces, heaters, or geysers during winter.
Ministry spokesperson Dr. Prakash Budhathoki said that serious incidents can occur if people are not careful while lighting a fire, using a heater or using a geyser in winter.
He urged people to watch the air circulation while lighting a fire or using a heating device to warm their body or room in winter and to avoid using coal-based sources as much as possible. 'When lighting a fire or using a heater, we request you not to keep flammable materials such as paper and cloth nearby and to extinguish the fire completely after lighting it,' said spokesperson Dr. Budhathoki.
The ministry has also requested people to turn off the heater from time to time while using it, turn off the heater before going to bed, connect the geyser's main machine to an open area outside the bathroom, and not stay in the bathroom for a long time with the geyser turned on.
