Nepal APF Hospital has expanded its services to include 300 beds to provide quality and accessible health services to serving and former Armed Police Force personnel, their dependent families, and the general public.
In line with the concept of upgrading the hospital, two new 'modular operation theaters' have been built in the last three years and the Sahabir Thapa Oncology Unit has also been established and brought into operation, the Armed Police Force has stated.
The construction of basic infrastructure for the medical college is ongoing. Telemedicine services are also being operated in all the offices of the Armed Police Force Nepal, which are connected to the intranet and internet. Due to this, patients who cannot come to the hospital can easily get health services.
The Ministry of Health and Population had granted permission to the Armed Police Force to operate a 300-bed hospital in Asoj 2081. An agreement has been reached between APF Hospital and the National Academy of Medical Sciences to operate educational and academic programs related to medical education in coordination with the Ministry of Health and Population.

'APF Nepal Institute of Health Sciences' has been opened at the Nepal APF Hospital in Balambu since the current fiscal year. The institute has started the Proficiency Certificate level nursing studies from this academic session. So far, 40 students, including 36 on a fee basis and 4 on a scholarship, are studying at the institute.
The trauma center in Kurintar and the field hospitals in all seven provinces will now be operated in a permanent structure. Earlier, the field hospital and the trauma center in Kurintar were under the command of a Technical Armed Police Inspector (Doctor), but now they will be commanded by a Technical Armed Police Deputy Superintendent (Doctor).
