After 1,685 cases of cholera in Parsa and Bara, all people over one year of age will be vaccinated from October to Tihar.
Vaccination campaign against cholera will be conducted in Parsa and Bara. The vaccination campaign will be conducted keeping in mind the high risk created by the cholera epidemic in that district and the flood that occurred after the recent rains.
A total of 1,685 patients have been infected with cholera in Parsa and Bara, which started from Murali toll of Birgunj Metropolitan City-12 in Parsa on 6th Bhadra. In a press conference held today about the 'Responsive Vaccination Campaign against Cholera, 2082', Director of Family Welfare Division, Dr. Vivek Lal informed that the vaccination campaign will be conducted in the month of October-November 2082. The department plans to start the campaign from October 26th in Parsa and October 29th in Bara and finish before Tihar.
The Management Division of the Health Service Department has prepared to send 1 million 18 thousand 100 vaccines to Parsa and Bara for the vaccination campaign. According to
director Lal, in this campaign, everyone in the age group above one year will be vaccinated. Cholera vaccination, which is being conducted as a response, will be given once during this campaign. This vaccine is an oral vaccine and it is safe, according to the department.
Everyone above one year of age should take this vaccine. Pregnant women and lactating women can also be given this vaccine.
