The work of building a fully equipped trauma center in Devchuli municipality-17 has started in full swing. According to the agreement with the Government of Nepal to complete the work within 18 months after the construction started on June 30, Chitwan has informed that the intensive urban and building construction project is progressing rapidly.

'Currently, the work of digging the foundation is going on, the construction company is doing the work of cutting down the poles and preparing the foundation. The foundation slope work will be done in the next few days,' he said. Katuwal said that the work has progressed after the decision of the Council of Ministers based on the Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) report that 646 trees/poles of various species should be cut.
He said that even though permission has been obtained from the Cabinet for cutting trees, the work is currently being done only in the area where the building is to be constructed. According to Avishek Kumar Chaurasia, site engineer of the trauma center, the trauma center is being constructed in an area of about three bighas of the Jharahi Community Forest.
Similarly, a two-and-a-half-storey building with a capacity of 15 beds is being built to cover an area of 1,000 square meters. In which there will be patient treatment on the ground floor, hospital administration on the first floor, multi-purpose meeting room and hospital ward and staff accommodation on the upper floor. He said that the map has been prepared and the necessary rooms for the x-ray room, surgery room (operation theater), laboratory will be built in the
hospital. It is said that the trauma center to be built along the East-West Highway will benefit the accident patients in Nawalpur and neighboring districts.
