Health and Population Minister Pradeep Paudel has informed the world community about the efforts being made in the field of digital health in Nepal.

Addressing the United Nations regional ministerial level meeting, Minister Paudel said that Nepal is making policy decisions and trying to improve in order to integrate the scattered health data of the citizens. 

He said, "Nepal is working to get integrated statistics by adding population information to the citizen's identity card and including health."

Minister Poudel mentioned that the problem in policy making due to the lack of integrated data is expected to be resolved now and said that inter-ministerial cooperation in digital health reform will be expanded. During the meeting with Armida Salisa Alisjavana, Executive Secretary of the Asia Pacific Region for the United Nations, Minister Paudel said that cooperation is expected from the organization as there will be technical difficulties in converting the digital system. At the

conference, the joint secretary of the Ministry of Health and Population, Dhundiraj Niraula, said that the efforts being made on behalf of Nepal have received positive feedback from the Asia-Pacific region, which has encouraged them to do more work. Insisting that the ministry is advancing the work to bring the population policy soon, he said that the digital system will play a special role in this.
