The Ministry of Health and Population has issued instructions to all government doctors involved in treatment to disclose all their details in documents. The Ministry's Quality Measurement and Regulation Division has written to all federal hospitals and institutions today asking them to disclose the details of doctors in the reports of patients who come to the hospital for treatment.

According to the directive, the full name, expertise, council registration number and correct seal of the physician and health worker recommending radiology, laboratory and other tests as required must be disclosed in the patient report. Ministry spokesperson Dr. Prakash Budhathoki said that the directive is expected to facilitate the treatment and re-examination of patients.

According to him, this system is expected to prevent unnecessary tests and to prevent referrals from the hospital even though the tests are possible. Currently, due to the fact that the medical details are not completed according to the doctor's recommendation (prescription), there is also a problem in the treatment of the patient and the identification of the malfunctions during that process. Now that medical details are made mandatory, it is believed that it will help to make doctors more responsible and accountable,' he said.

Health Minister Pradeep Paudel has been emphasizing on improving therapeutic services to provide effective services to patients in government hospitals. It is expected that the issued directive will contribute to this, according to his private secretariat.
