Chandra Bahadur Thapa Chhetri has been appointed as the Chairman of the Health Insurance Board. Health and Population Minister Pradeep Paudel today administered the oath of office and secrecy to newly appointed President Thapa.
Thapa, a resident of Pyuthan, was previously a board member for three years. Newly appointed President Thapa said that there is a plan to improve health insurance and cover all citizens by reviewing and improving the health insurance policy.
He promised to make the insurance claim payment process fast and transparent, to manage the insurance fund transparently and effectively, and to initiate the approval of the permanent organizational structure of the Health Insurance Board. He said that the public awareness campaign about the importance of health insurance and collaboration with the government, private sector and international organizations will make the insurance program effective.
