Health and Population Minister Pradeep Paudel has said that it is necessary to connect women's breast, uterus and cervical cancer screening program with the local level.
Inaugurating the screening program that will be conducted in the metropolis in collaboration with Bir Hospital and Kathmandu Metropolitan City on Tuesday, Minister Poudel mentioned the government's goal of screening five million women for breast, uterus and cervical cancer within the current financial year. He says that this goal will be achieved only if the
screening program is brought to the local level. He also said that Sarka conducted the last month of February as a screening campaign.
Minister Paudel also claims that 94 percent of girls studying from class 6 to 10 have been vaccinated against HPV through this campaign. Mentioning that there are local people who have direct relationship with the people, he said that the screening program will be successful only if it can be connected with the local level. Speaking at the
program, Kathmandu Metropolitan City Deputy Chief Sunita Dangol said that after getting cancer, it should be everyone's priority not to get treatment. She said that the Kathmandu Metropolitan City is conducting a screening program to identify breast, uterine and cervical cancer in women.
