Chandra Kami of Mangalsen Municipality - 3, who has taken out health insurance, has the same complaint. She said that there is a compulsion to buy medicine from outside after checking at the district hospital. "If the medicine is not given, why was it asked to do the insurance?" Naurata and Chandra are the only representative characters who have health insurance but have not received medicine. On an average, 30 insured people come for treatment at the district hospital every day. Many of these complain about not getting medicine.
District Hospital Achham's information officer Ganga Budha Magar said that the district hospital purchases medicines and claims funds from the health insurance board even for the insured. She said that there is a problem when the board reduces the amount for the medical treatment of the insured as the procedure is not met.
'Hospital buys medicine from its own source and gives it to those who have insurance . Medicines should be bought expensively. They reduce the price of medicine from the insurance, said information officer Budha Magar, "In the previous fiscal year, the insurance amount claimed by the hospital was reduced by about 2.5 million rupees." The hospital is losing money because of the insurance.'
Recently, not only the medicine given for the insurance but also other medicines have run out and she said that they are in the process of purchasing. It is not that the hospital did not give medicine to the insured. Hospitals are not able to buy some expensive medicines. Medicines that are given regularly will reach the hospital soon,' she said, 'On the one hand, there is anger among the patients when they do not receive the medicine even after claiming the insurance amount, on the other hand, the complicated process and the non-payment of the claim amount have put a financial burden on the hospital.'
