Health and Population Minister Pradeep Paudel has urged all concerned to make the free 'screening' campaign started today by the Ministry of Health and Population with the aim of promoting preventive methods against non-communicable diseases.
Issuing a message today, he said that non-communicable diseases accounted for nearly three-fourths of the deaths in the country, adding more complexity due to climate change and increasing urbanization.
After realizing that it is necessary to organize health promotion, preventive and curative services from the local level as a campaign with community participation to address this problem, he has announced a plan and prioritized curative services and planned to protect citizens from the vicious cycle of disease as much as possible through preventative methods. He said.
'We are making as much efforts as possible to improve the quality of service and treatment in our health institutions,' he said, 'At the same time, we are continuing our efforts to prevent diseases as much as possible through basic health check-ups and awareness of the citizens and to protect the health of citizens and the funds of both citizens and the state through timely treatment.' As part of the
campaign, citizens over 30 years of age should be identified and managed in time for diabetes, high blood pressure, kidney-related diseases and body height-to-weight ratio in every local health institution. Screening will be done.
Ministry is going to continue this campaign every year. Minister Paudel has asked to reduce the burden of non-communicable diseases in Nepal and ensure everyone's access to health services.
