Minister of Health and Population Paudel has decided to provide free of charge the very expensive medicine used in the treatment of very rare paralysis in Nepal. Minister Paudel said that medicines obtained with the help of the US will be distributed free of charge through federal and state hospitals to treat paralysis, which kills about 800 people every year.

"Even though it can be treated, many people are not dying because the medicine is rare and expensive", he said in an event held in Pokhara, "to prevent this, the government is going to arrange the provision of medicines." According to the ministry, the number of deaths due to lack of medicine in cases of paralysis has increased. Doctors say that if a dose of thrombolytic drugs is taken, the diagnosis of paralysis will be successful. The price of one quantity of medicine in Nepal is about 1 lakh 38 thousand. Since many people are losing their lives due to the lack of availability of medicine, the Secretariat of Minister Paudel has informed that the ministry has taken the initiative to provide this medicine and provide it easily.

The American charity Direct Relief and the Ministry have also signed a contract for support in this regard. Ministry spokesperson Prakash Budhathoki said that the organization has committed to provide such medicine for five years based on the demand of the government.

The ministry has already started the process of making guidelines for the distribution and treatment of these drugs. The guidelines for medicine and treatment of paralysis will be applicable in federal and state hospitals. This achievement is important in Nepal's health care services. Raju Poudel said.
