With the help of Global Alliance for HPV Vaccine (GAVI), the Ministry of Health and Population has introduced the Human Papilloma Virus (HPV) vaccine against cervical cancer.

Director of Supply Management Division of Health Services Department. Pawanjung Rayamazhi said that 460,940 vaccines have arrived. He informed that the vaccine is now kept in the storage room at Teku and will be sent to the province gradually. 

'HPV' has arrived in Nepal with the support of the Global Alliance for Vaccination (GAVI). The government has started a vaccination campaign from January 23 to protect girls from cancer from an early age. Head of Child Health and Immunization Branch Dr. Dr. Campaign Gautam informed. According to him, only 17 lakh 70 thousand cows will be provided to Nepal. 

Every year four women die from cervical cancer. The main reason for increasing the risk of cervical cancer is the human papilloma virus infection, which requires vaccination against it. Human papilloma virus infection is caused by marrying at a young age, having children at a young age, having many children, having children continuously in a short interval and having sex with many people, smoking and drinking a lot and not paying attention to genital hygiene. 

Cervical cancer is the most common cancer among women in Nepal followed by breast cancer.
