A person died after a landslide buried a cowshed in Banpale, Galyang Municipality-6, Syangja on Thursday morning.
According to the District Police Office, Syangja, at around 5 am, 65-year-old Dhan Bahadur Thapa was working in his one-story thatched cowshed made of stone and clay when a landslide suddenly collapsed from above and buried him along with the cowshed.
As soon as information about the incident was received, a police team under the command of Police Assistant Inspector Padam Bahadur Thapa from Police Post Pidikhola was deployed to the scene. The police team that reached the scene at 6:45 am while clearing the landslide with the locals found Dhan Bahadur Thapa dead, according to the police.
A buffalo inside the cowshed died and a pig was injured due to the landslide. The District Police Office, Syangja, stated that further details about the incident are being collected and necessary investigation is underway.
