Buddhibahadur Bohora, 57, a resident of Tamangtol, Besisahar Municipality–8, Lamjung, who had been missing for five days, has been found dead.
According to the District Police Office, Lamjung, Bohora, whose permanent residence is Bohorabesi, Besisahar Municipality–2, left home on Asar 21 without informing anyone. He was found dead on Thursday morning at around 8:30 in the forest above Akashe Danda in Udipur, Besisahar–1.
Locals informed the police after seeing the body. Police stated that Bohora’s body was found in the forest about 150 meters above the road, on the right side of the road leading to Dhimire above Akashe Danda, under the Besisahar–Chame road section.
DSP Jitendra Kumar Basnet, chief of the District Police Office, said that the nature of the incident appeared somewhat suspicious. “The face appears to be somewhat pressed. This could be due to decomposition, but there could be other reasons as well,” he said. “We expect more facts to be revealed after the post-mortem.”
According to him, one person who used to accompany Bohora has already been taken into custody for questioning as of Wednesday. Police have prepared a report of the incident site and sent the body to the Provincial Hospital in Besisahar for post-mortem. According to Police Inspector Gyanendra Bahadur Kshetri, further investigation into the incident is ongoing.
According to police sources, Bohora, a retired Nepal Army personnel, used to go to the Bhoteodar area to play cards. Police also stated that they are investigating how he reached the upper forest area from the road.
