It has been declared that the district has achieved full vaccination coverage and sustainability with all the necessary vaccinations for 14,257 children in Baglung.
On Saturday, Gandaki Province Health Minister Laxman Bahadur Pandey declared the district as fully vaccinated at a program organized in Baglung. He also honored the municipal chiefs, health department chiefs, and women's health volunteers who supported the campaign.
According to Praveen Sharma, head of the Provincial Public Health Office, Baglung, 3,278 children under 15 months of age and 10,979 children between the ages of 16 months and 5 years have been vaccinated.
After the measles outbreak in Dhorpatan Municipality last Falgun, the Gandaki Province Government, the Federal Ministry of Health, the World Health Organization, and the Provincial Public Health Office, Baglung, had administered 7,000 separate vaccinations in coordination with the municipality. At that time, children and adolescents up to the age of 20 within Dhorpatan Municipality were vaccinated to eliminate the measles infection.
This year, more children have been vaccinated in Dhorpatan than in the district headquarters, including 622 children under 15 months and 2,638 children between 16 months and 59 months.
