The District Traffic Police Office, Gorkha has started removing black glass and stickers placed on vehicles in violation of traffic rules.
The campaign to remove black glass and stickers has been launched from Wednesday, said Suraj Aryal, Chief of the District Traffic Police Office, Gorkha. On the first day of the campaign, the police removed black stickers stuck on the windows of six vehicles.
Aryal said that black stickers were removed from two taxis and four private cars. ‘The traffic rules themselves state that no changes can be made without permission,’ he said, ‘You cannot paste black stickers and change the windows arbitrarily. In the first phase, we have asked you to remove such glass and stickers yourself after giving a warning. If you do not comply, we will also take action.’
He said that there is a provision that black stickers and windows cannot be used for passenger safety and traffic monitoring. Aryal said that black glass and stickers were found on most electric vehicles in the district. ‘We are now emphasizing on spontaneous removal,’ he said, ‘This campaign will continue, we will remove black glass and stickers that are placed against the rules.’
The District Traffic Police Office, Gorkha, has stated that spot checks have also been intensified to remove black glass and stickers.
