A fire broke out in Ngorodanda near Humde in Manang's Ngisyang Rural Municipality-4 on Sunday. The fire broke out in the forest on the road from Pisang to Humde.

The fire has affected 2.5 ropanis of forest area, according to the Annapurna Conservation Area Project (ACAP) Area Conservation Office, Manang. According to ACAP's Natural Resources Conservation Assistant Shreejit Joshi, the fire broke out in the forest around 8 am on Sunday. After that, Nepal Police, Armed Police Force, ACAP employees and locals in Humde reached there to douse the fire.

He said that despite the steep terrain and no water source nearby, the fire was brought under control through coordinated work and timely efforts. According to him, a team of 18 people including security personnel, ACAP and locals was deployed. According to ACAP, the fire has mostly affected the trees of the Talisapatra species. He said that the fire was completely extinguished only around 5 pm.

Police Inspector Sumit Kushwaha of the District Police Office, Manang, said that a 5-member police team has been deployed from the Area Police Office in Humde to extinguish the fire. Nepal Police said that the fire was brought under control with the help of Armed Police Force, ECAP personnel and locals.

He said that the police team was deployed after receiving information about a fire in the black forest of Ngorudanda, Pakho, Humde at around 10:50 am on Sunday. According to him, the fire was brought under control at around 1:40 pm. According to him, there was no human or animal damage from the fire.

ECAP and the police have said that they are searching for the person who started the fire. Since the fire was seen starting from the base of a large tree, the police and ECAP have said that the fire may have started because those who went to the forest did not put out the fire by cooking something and left it burning at the base of the tree.
