Two school children died after being hit by an Indian vehicle at Markichowk, Aanbukhaireni Rural Municipality-2, along the Prithvi Highway in the district on Friday afternoon. The deceased have been identified as 8-year-old Sayana Thapa and 5-year-old William Thapa of Aanbukhaireni-2, according to the District Police Office.
They were walking home after school when a vehicle (UP 13 AQ 770) coming from Muglin to Dumre hit them. The children, who were walking on the side of the road, were seriously injured when a speeding car hit them. Both children were immediately taken to Aanbukhaireni Hospital. After treatment was not possible there, Aanbukhaireni Hospital referred them to CMC Hospital Chitwan, where doctors declared them dead. The deceased Sayana and William are the children of a brother and sister.
