One dead, 12 injured in jeep accident in Waling

One person died and 12 others were injured in a Bolero jeep accident on the Mirdi-Chapakot road section in Lovelydanda, Waling Municipality-7, Syangja on Friday.

According to the District Police Office, the double-cap Bolero jeep (Ba 7905) coming from Tapke towards Waling overturned on the side of the road at around 11:20 am. Rajendra Birkatta, a resident of Waling-7, 25, died in the accident, District Police Spokesperson Ramesh Dutt Awasthi said. According to him, the injured in the accident died at 1 pm during treatment at the Primary Health Center in Birkatta. His body has been kept at the Primary Health Center in Waling.

Out of the 18 people in the jeep, four were seriously injured, eight were moderately injured, and five were slightly injured. The driver, Min Bahadur Saru, 28, of Waling-7, was slightly injured and is in police custody. The injured have been referred to Pokhara for treatment.
