Sahid Lakhan Rural Municipality has merged 10 schools with low student numbers. The village executive meeting on Jestha 22 decided to merge the schools.
The decision to merge the schools was made to improve the educational quality of schools with low student numbers, manage physical and human resources, and make school operation expenses economical, said Rajendra Khanal, head of the rural municipality's education department.
Laxmi Basic and Indra Abarabhut of Sahid Lakhan-1 Bakrang have been integrated into Mahendra Shakti Secondary School, Sahid Sandesh Secondary School of Sahid Lakhan-4 has been integrated into Maharudra Secondary School, and Chandrakala Secondary School of Sahid Lakhan-6 has been integrated into Bhagwati Himalaya Secondary School.
Similarly, Durga Secondary School of Ward 6 has been integrated into Jaldevi Secondary School of Ward 5, Jalakanya Secondary School of Ward 6 has been integrated into Chandika Secondary School, and Mandali Secondary School has been integrated into Himalaya Secondary School. Similarly, Khanal informed that Kalika Amarjyoti Secondary School of Ward 9 has been integrated into Bhimsen Secondary School, Jaldevi Secondary School into Janshakti Secondary School and Dahal Secondary School of Ward 8 has been integrated into Rameshwori Secondary School.
‘To provide continuity to primary education, we have made arrangements for the operation of the nursery school in the currently operating location and class under the merged school,’ he said, ‘The nursery class will be operated as a unit of the merged school.’
The village municipality has also requested that the movable and immovable property of the merged school, documents related to school operation, student records and other materials be submitted to the merged main school. Khanal also said that schools with less than 10 students have been merged.
