One person has died in a tractor accident in Pumdi, Chapakot Municipality-4, Syangja. The deceased has been identified as Tilak Pariyar, 23, of Malika Rural Municipality-5, Myagdi. Pariyar, who was injured in the accident, died at the Intensive Care Center, Waling during treatment.
There were two people on board the tractor. Another passenger, 18-year-old Karan Pariyar, was injured. On Wednesday evening, a tipper (G 1 Ka 4446) carrying sand for the construction of a road from Maliangkot to Gharlichaur slipped on the uphill road and fell 100 meters below the road.
The tipper driver, Resham Bahadur Giri, 26, of Shantinagar Gapa-1, Dang, is absconding. District Police Information Officer Ramesh Dutta Adhikari informed that a search is underway for Giri, who fled the scene of the accident.
