The first district convention of the National Independent Party (NISP) Parbat has elected Jal Bahadur Purja Pun as the district president.
Despite efforts to elect a unanimous leadership for the presidency, the voting process was adopted after Gangalal Rimal did not withdraw his candidacy. Purja, who was also the RSP candidate from Parbat in the 2079 House of Representatives elections, was elected as the president.
A 10-member district working committee has also been elected from the convention. Sharada Kumari Sharma has been elected as the vice-president of the working committee, Rameshwor Gautam as the secretary, and Narayan Prasad Bhusal as the joint secretary.
