RSP General Secretary and House of Representatives MP Kavindra Burlakoti has said that he is fully confident that the Gorakhkali Rubber Industry will be operational.

Addressing the RSP Gorkha convention, he said that the study team has submitted a report on the possibility of operating the industry by changing the technology. ‘Technology needs to be changed to operate the industry, I had heard earlier that it would cost two billion to operate the industry,’ he said, ‘I have a report in my hand that it would cost around four billion to do the technology transformation, I have given this report to the Prime Minister and the Finance Minister, it is yet to be given to the Industry Minister, looking at the report, there is a high possibility that the private sector can invest and go.’

He said that he is fully confident that the industry can be operated as the private sector has shown interest in running the industry. ‘Even if there is a deficit, we are trying to say that the industry should be run by the government itself next year,’ he said, ‘The industry should be profitable, it should be operated, we should work to advance that industry, whether the government runs it or the private sector should run the industry, Gorkhas should get some employment.’

He said that by operating the industry, Gorkhali tires should be seen running on every vehicle. ‘We should be able to see the tires of the rubber industry running on every vehicle, we are confident that our pride should be our tires,’ he said.

He also said that his party and government have a plan to open two thousand industries across the country in five years. ‘We have seen a dream of opening two thousand industries with government investment, in partnership with the government and the private sector, or with private sector investment, out of which 20/30 industries will also open in Gorkha,’ he said. Similarly, Burlakoti said that the Budhi Gandaki project will be taken forward with a concrete decision this year.
