Landless squatters have demonstrated in eastern Nawalparasi. Protesting in Chormara, Madhyabindu Municipality of the district, landless squatters and unorganized settlers held a protest on Monday, raising slogans such as "Ensure land and housing rights, stop squatting". They also raised slogans against the government, saying that the current government has been using dozers in places where landless and squatters have been taking shelter for years and making them homeless. They also submitted a memorandum to Mayor Bhimlal Adhikari along with a protest in front of the Madhyabindu Municipality office. Receiving the memorandum, Mayor Adhikari expressed his commitment not to make real squatters and landless people homeless as work is being done to provide land titles to squatters, unorganized and landless people.
