A landslide on the Mid-Hill (Pushpalal) Highway near Bimirebhanjyang, Madhya Nepal Municipality-10, Lamjung has blocked the road since Tuesday morning.
The problem of landslides in the area has been recurring every day since the rains. According to Acting Chief Police Inspector Abhishek Pandey of the District Police Office, the road has been blocked since around 7 am on Tuesday. He said that efforts are being made to open the road.
After the road was blocked, short and long-distance vehicles traveling from Bhorletar to Besi Sahar, the Lamjung district headquarters, and vehicles traveling via Sundarbazar-Bimirebhanjyang to Bhorletar, Rambazar, and Kaski to rural areas of Lamjung and the provincial capital Pokhara have been stopped.
A major landslide occurred last year after the work of removing stones and soil from the mountain above the road began. Locals say that the problem has worsened since then.
