Inspector General of Nepal Police Dan Bahadur Karki has said that the police are ensuring peace and security to the citizens despite the lack of resources and minimum facilities.

‘That is why we are working towards making the police organization technologically advanced,’ he said, ‘It is a sad thing that the office of an organization with a long history of 70 years is still in a house with 50 percent rent.’

Inaugurating the newly constructed building of the District Traffic Police Office, East Nawalparasi, Police Chief Karki has directed the subordinate bodies to maintain peace and security in a way that the citizens can guarantee, as security for the citizens is the first priority along with development.

At the building inauguration program, President of the National Federation of Rural Municipalities Laxmi Devi Pandey emphasized that in the 21st century, along with physical development, security and citizens should feel peace and tranquility. She also said that the Auditor General would show disapproval when the local level helps to physically equip the police, and that cooperation between all three levels is necessary in building a technology-friendly police organization to maintain peace and security. A well-equipped police building has been constructed here at a cost of 32 million rupees by the Gandaki Provincial Government.
