A child has drowned while swimming in Fewa Lake.
According to information provided by Kaski Police, 10-year-old Amresh Lama of Khapaudi, Pokhara Metropolitan City-18, drowned while swimming in the lake at around 11 am on Friday.
After he went missing after drowning, a rescue team of the Armed Police Force was immediately mobilized. A team of 8 people led by Police Inspector Mukunda Sigdel from the Ward Police Office Baidam and a team of 7 people from the Armed Police Force Nepal No. 24 Battalion under the command of Armed Police Deputy Inspector Tarachandra Sharma had reached the spot.
The rescue team pulled him out of the lake and took him to the Pokhara Institute of Health Sciences for treatment. However, during the treatment, the doctor declared him dead at 12:15 pm.
