A rhinoceros stuck in a swamp on the banks of the Narayani River in eastern Nawalparasi has been rescued. A team from the Chitwan National Park rescued a rhinoceros stuck in the mud of Coronaghat near the Model Community Forest.
Locals had informed the park and the buffer committee after seeing the rhinoceros stuck in the swamp since Friday. Avinash Thapa, information officer of the Chitwan National Park, said that the park team used a dozer to pull the trapped rhinoceros out.
The park has said that the female rhino, about 22 years old, was rescued and released in the Model Community Forest.
