The group led by Mansingh Dura of Thuloswarra, Sundarbazar-11, Lamjung has come first in the open Thado Bhaka competition held in Ranipokhari, Gorkha Municipality-6. Dura's group, which came first in the competition held on Friday and Saturday, has received a cash prize of 80,000. Similarly, the group led by Dammar Ghale of Dudhpokhari-2 has come second and received a cash prize of 50,000. Ramana Bhandari group from Lamjung and Lamjung Folk Art Foundation came third and received a cash prize of 20,000 each, said Prithvi Gurung, chairman of the organizing Thado Bhaka Conservation and Promotion Committee. There were 15 groups participating in the competition. Senior artists Bishnu Maya Gurung, Krishna Pariyar and Chija Tamang were also honored on the occasion of the competition. The organizers have stated that the competition was organized to honor seniors and encourage new talents. The participants of the competition presented their art through direct speech, covering various aspects of Melapat, Deurali Bhanjyang, Vanapakha, Khetbari, and emotional and social relationships of young people.
