Binod Thapa, 26, of Toren Pokhari Danda, Shaheed Lakhan Rural Municipality-5, who was seriously injured by lightning on Sunday evening, has died.
Thapa was seriously injured by lightning while sitting inside his house and using his mobile phone.
His right ear was bleeding and his eyebrows, chest clothes and pants were burnt. Police have said that Thapa, who was unconscious and unable to speak, died on the way to the hospital.
The mobile phone was found to have been damaged by lightning and the power socket of the electricity line was burnt, and the wall of the house was slightly damaged, said DSP Rajkumar Shrestha of the District Police Office, Gorkha.
