The Gandaki Province government has reshuffled its cabinet on Wednesday. Eight newly appointed ministers have taken the oath of office and secrecy before the province chief. With four ministers each from the ruling coalition UML and Congress taking the oath, the cabinet has become nine-member.
Govinda Bahadur Nepali has become the Minister for Physical Infrastructure Development and Transport Management from UML. Yashoda Rimal has been appointed as the Minister for Industry and Tourism, Bhim Karki as the Minister for Agriculture, Land Management and Cooperatives, and Laxman Pandey as the Minister for Health. The province chief appointed them and administered the oath on the recommendation of Chief Minister Surendra Pandey.
Jit Sherchan has become the Minister for Finance from Congress. Nanda Prasad Neupane has been appointed as the Minister for Energy, Water Resources and Drinking Water, Rekha Gurung as the Minister for Social Development, Youth and Sports, and Namdu Gurung as the Minister for Forests and Environment.
Earlier, the Ministry of Agriculture was held by Padma GC, the Ministry of Health by Krishna Pathak, the Ministry of Physical Infrastructure by Prakash KC, and the Ministry of Industry and Tourism by Mitra Lal Basyal. Similarly, Dr. Takraj Gurung, Bindu Kumar Thapa for Social Development, and Bhesh Bahadur Poudel for Forest and Environment. The Ministry of Energy was being looked after by Chief Minister Pandey himself.
