37-year-old Kush Gurung dies

The driver has died in a truck accident on the Besisahar-Chame road section between Dharapani and Dankyu under Nason Rural Municipality-3 of Manang. The deceased has been identified as Kush Gurung, 37, a resident of Sundarbazar Municipality, Lamjung and currently residing in Simpani Bagaincha, Marsyangdi Rural Municipality-9, Lamjung.
According to DSP Hari Prasad Poudel, Chief of the District Police Office, Manang, the truck carrying cement for the Marsyangdi Hydropower Project, B.P. 06001 Ka 0461, fell off the road at around 10:30 am on Tuesday and met with an accident.
Gurung, who was seriously injured in the accident, was brought to the Province Hospital in Besisahar, Lamjung for treatment. During treatment, doctors declared him dead at around 2 pm.
According to the police, the truck fell approximately 50 to 60 meters below the road. The driver's body has been kept at the Lamjung Provincial Hospital for postmortem.
The police said that the cause of the accident is yet to be ascertained and further investigation into the incident is underway.
