The road from Chambas to Turture in Bhanu Municipality of Tanahun, along the Dumre-Besisahar-Chame road connecting Lamjung, will be partially closed from Saturday to Chaitra 30.
The District Administration Office, Tanahun, has stated that the road will be closed from 12 noon to 4 pm and from 5 pm to 9 pm.
The road has to be closed twice a day as road widening work is underway from Dhukurdi area of Bhanu Municipality to Turture, according to a notice issued by Bikash Shrestha, Administrative Officer of the District Administration Office, Tanahun.
The road has to be closed to minimize the risk of possible accidents at the construction site and to facilitate the progress of the work. Office Acting Chief Satish Subedi said that the road has to be closed due to the need to 'cut' the road to widen it. According to him, about 3 kilometers of the road will be closed as part of the cutting work for widening the road. He said that the road planning department is currently working in the Turture area to construct a 10-meter (double lane) road with a drain.
The District Administration Office, Tanahun and the Dumre-Besisahar-Chame Road Planning Office have urged drivers and passengers to use alternative routes during the road closure. They have been urged to use the Turture-Palungtar-Khatritar route to Bimalnagar during the main road closure.
