On the occasion of the New Year, a 'Traditional Food and Street Festival' will be held at Ranipokhari premises in Gorkha Municipality-6. The organizer Gorkha Hotel Association informed that the festival will be held from Chaitra 30 to Baisakh 1 at a press conference on Wednesday.

The association's general secretary Suman Shrestha said that the festival was organized with the aim of celebrating the New Year in a festive atmosphere in the Gorkha district headquarters and also promoting traditional foods. He said that before the festival inauguration program on Chaitra 30, a rally with tableaux of different castes will be held from the sports ground Harmatari to Bisaunimod, Bus Park and Ranipokhari.
The festival will have stalls of traditional food from all municipalities in the district, said the association's acting president Krishna Prasad Lamichhane. There will be 15 stalls of traditional food.
There will be a musical program with The Agile Band and Raktim Band on the evening of Chaitra 30. Similarly, Zidan Gurung, who reached the top-7 of Nepal Idol, will also perform.
An open group dance competition has been organized on Baisakh 1. There will also be performances by folk artists on the same day.
The first team in the dance competition will receive 10,000, the second 8,000, and the third 5,000.
