The 16th Pasgaun Festival 2082 is scheduled to be held on Chaitra 10 and 11 in Pasgaun, Kholasothar Rural Municipality-6, Lamjung.
The people of Pasgaun organized the first Pasgaun Festival on Baishakh 10 and 11, 2060. The festival was stopped for a few years, but recently the festival has started being held annually.
The organizers have stated that the festival is being organized to further introduce Pasgaun, located at an altitude of 1,650 meters above sea level, to the country and abroad, to preserve and promote local costumes, art, culture, songs and music, to reduce poverty, and to promote local products.

Homestay Chairman Surya Prasad Gurung, who is also the Chairman of Kholasothar Rural Municipality, informed that the festival is being organized to reduce rural poverty and take the economic prosperity of Pasgaun to a higher level.
Stone-roofed houses on the southern side, revolving houses, Gurung Museum, historical and religious sites are the worth-seeing heritages of Pasgaun. The social traditions of the village, including traditional customs such as Rodhi, Huri, collective labor, dances of the mother group, cultural dances of the youth, Serga, Ghatu, Krishna Charitra, Sarangi, Jhyaure and other dances can be seen in Pasgaun.
According to Ratan Singh Gurung, secretary of the committee and former teacher, Pasgaun is rich in organic food, traditional handicrafts, mythological customs, lifestyle, nature and culture. He claimed that the various types of fruits found in the seasonal forests have attracted tourists.
Homestays have been operated in 21 houses in Pasgaun to accommodate tourists. The package includes 1,200 rupees per person. Pasgaun, which has 175 houses, is home to Gurung community, Bhujel and Dalit communities as well as Bhujel. After reaching Khomredanda and Ngyojedanda above the village, not only the areas around Pokhara but also the rural areas of Manang, Gorkha, and Kaski can be seen, says Bhakta Gurung, joint secretary of the committee. According to him, not only the sunrise and sunset can be seen from here, but also dozens of mountain ranges.
This time, the festival includes a group dance competition of the wards within Kholasothar Rural Municipality. The winning group will receive 50,000 rupees in cash, the runner-up 30,000, and the consolation group 20,000 rupees.
Pasgaun can be reached from Besisahar, the Lamjung district headquarters, via Maling, Salmebhanjyang, and Ghamrang. From Salmebhanjyang, Pasgaun can also be reached via Charagaun and Bagan. From Besisahar, Pasgaun can also be reached via Ghalegaun and Bhujung.
Similarly, from Besisahar, one can reach Pasgaun via Bhorletar Rambazar or from Pokhara, one can reach Pasgaun via Karapu, Chapa, Gilung, Salmebhanjyang and then Charagaun or Ghamrang. From Pokhara, one can reach Pasgaun via Bhainse, Thumsikot, Mungrivesi, Baluwavesi, Bagaincha. From Kathmandu, one can reach Pasgaun via Damauli in Tanahun, Duipiple in Lamjung, Bhorletar, Rambazar and Gilung.
