Twelve people were injured in a road accident that occurred in Gaindakot, East Nawalparasi, on Monday.
The accident occurred when a bus (Lu.Pr.01-001 Kha 0910) heading from Nepalgunj to Kathmandu near Hanuman Temple in Gaindakot Municipality-9 along the East-West Highway hit a truck (Ba.Pr.01-028 Cha 5004) coming from the opposite direction and a truck (Ba 3 Kha 3163) coming from the opposite direction.
According to the District Police Office, Nawalparasi (East), the truck driver, 32-year-old Indra Tamang of Thadadevi, Ramechhap, the driver of the truck, Darshan Kapri of Bharatpur, Chitwan, and the bus driver, Mohan Singh Balami Magar of Nepalgunj, Banke, were injured in the accident. They are being treated at New Medical College, Chitwan.
Police said that nine passengers on the bus also sustained minor injuries.
The cause of the accident has not been revealed and further investigation is underway, the police said.
