One person has died in a tractor accident on the inner road of Pamchowk, Marsyangdi Rural Municipality-9, Lamjung. Two others have been injured.
The empty tractor (No. Ga 1 Ta 5646) heading from Khudi to Bhalamchaur fell 3-4 meters off the road at around 10 pm on Sunday, police said.
Three people were injured in the accident, and the tractor driver, 33-year-old Sujan Rai, a resident of Yangwarak Rural Municipality-1, Pathibhara, Taplejung, and currently working on the transmission line of Midim Hydropower in Marsyangdi Rural Municipality-9, died.
He was seriously injured and was taken to the Provincial Hospital in Besisahar, Lamjung for treatment, but doctors declared him dead at around 3:30 am on Monday.
Among the injured, 32-year-old Dipesh Limbu, a resident of Taplejung Phungling Municipality-9 and currently working on the transmission line of Midim Hydropower, has sustained injuries to his head and both arms and legs.
Another injured person, 26-year-old Suman Rai, a resident of Taplejung and currently working on the same transmission line, has sustained injuries to his chest and left arm.
Both are undergoing treatment at the Provincial Hospital, Lamjung, in Besisahar, according to the police. The bodies have been kept in the hospital for post-mortem and the accident is being investigated, said Police Inspector Gyanendra Chhetri of the District Police Office.
