One person died in a Bolero pickup jeep accident on the Kushma-Phalebas road section in Mudikuwa, Phalebas Municipality-4, Parbat on Monday evening.
The driver of the jeep, Sajjan Pariyar, 35, a resident of Khanigaun, Phalebas Municipality-5, died in the accident. During treatment, doctors declared him dead at 8:40 pm, said Armed Police Force, Nepal No. 25 Battalion Headquarters Chandika, Superintendent of Armed Police Kshitij Chhetri.
According to him, a 13-member rescue team deployed from Chandika Battalion Parbat under the command of Saprani Dharma Bahadur Thapa pulled the seriously injured driver out of the jeep and took him to the Provincial Hospital in Kusma for immediate treatment.
At around 7 pm, while he was going towards Phalebas from Kushma with urea fertilizer, the brakes of the jeep failed and he fell about 30 meters off the road, said Superintendent of Armed Police Chhetri. Only the driver was in the jeep.
