Snowfall has started in Manang. Snowfall has been occurring in the upper areas around the district headquarters Chame since Friday afternoon.

According to Sagar Gurung, a businessman from Upper Manang, it has been snowing in Upper Manang village since around 4 pm. He said that the cold has also increased after the snow started. ‘The cold has increased a bit after the snow. But, it is not as cold as before. It dissipates in a moment after the sun comes out,’ he said.

According to Dhak Bahadur Bhujel, head of the Annapurna Conservation Area Project (ACAP) Manang, there has been snow in the upper Manang area of ​​the Annapurna Cycle Trail. He said that tourists have been asked to travel safely during the snow.

‘It is not snowing to the extent that it will affect them too much. However, it is better to stay where you are safely after the snow starts. That is what we have told tourists,’ he said. According to him, around 50 foreign tourists entered Upper Manang on Friday alone.

District Police Chief DSP Hari Prasad Poudel said that it is snowing in the upper areas from the district headquarters Chame. According to him, despite the snow, the road is open. ‘It is snowing. So far, there is no information that the road has been closed,’ he said. According to him, it is also snowing towards Narpabhumi.

Chief District Officer Nawaraj Poudyal said that it has been raining near the district headquarters Chame and snowing in the upper areas. ‘There is snow around Chame towards the wall. There is no snow in Chame itself, it is raining,’ he said. According to him, the temperature has decreased after the snow started falling around and the rain started. According to him, the temperature in the district headquarters Chame at around 6:45 pm on Friday showed 22 degrees.
