Police have arrested a person for misbehaving with Mahabir Pun in Pokhara. On February 11, police took 43-year-old Bikash Gurung, a resident of Kaski, into custody for abusing Pun and his team while selling books at Prithvi Chowk in Pokhara.

Gurung, a resident of Banjhapatan, Pokhara Metropolitan City-13, Kaski, was arrested from Mahendrapul area by a team deployed from the District Police Office, Kaski. The police had started a detailed investigation after a video of the incident, which took place while Pun was selling his autobiography, 'Mahabhir Pun: Memories, Dreams and Unending Journey', went viral on social media.

According to Hari Bahadur Basnet, Information Officer and Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) of the District Police Office, Kaski, it has been found that the arrested Gurung has a criminal background. 'According to police records, Gurung has been convicted in drug cases three times before,' DSP Basnet informed. The police have initiated further investigation into the case of indecent behavior against him.

Pun, an independent member of the House of Representatives from Myagdi, had pushed Gurung, who was trying to talk to him, at a place where he was selling books, and Gurung had abused him by saying, "Why are you selling books as an MP? Don't you have to go and make laws?" Pun has been selling books at various intersections in Pokhara for the past few days.
